Second Funding Round (2015 - 2018)

In Egypt, the Collective Action project led by Global Compact Network Egypt  and the Egyptian Junior Business Association aimed to focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and establish the Integrity Network Initiative to act as a sustainable multi-stakeholder business-led group of SMEs committed to countering corruption. 


Main accomplishments


  • Signed up 100 SMEs and 22 supporting partners to the Integrity Pledge and joined the Integrity Network Initiative.
  • Trained more than  680 participants from 400 SMEs and other stakeholders on anti-corruption and compliance.
  • Developed a self-assessment and external assessment process to monitor compliance with the Integrity Pledge.
  • Created a catalogue for large companies on incentives that they can offer for SMEs demonstrating ethical leadership.
  • Developed various resources for SMEs including briefs, guidelines, training tools on topics including developing an internal anti-corruption policy, transparency in customs, public procurement, code of conduct and internal controls and an on-line support desk.

First Funding Round (2010- 2015)

In Egypt, the Collective Action project aimed to identify key stakeholders as well as crucial factors contributing to corruption in the country, and it has aimed to strengthen regional and international partnerships to promote sustainable economic growth.
 

Main accomplishments


  • Developed the Integrity Pledge Initiative to address the needs and challenges of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working in the country. 
  • Established a joint committee between one of the project partners, the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade of Egypt and the Egyptian Junior Business Association, to initiate a dialogue between businesses and the Government on corruption.
