Collective Action Initiatives

Country Networks' Voices: The Power of Collective Action

Supported by the funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative, the UN Global Compact engages in multi-year projects through partnerships with diverse organizations, including Global Compact Country Networks. Our efforts aim to increase business integrity, enhance transparency and bring the private sector, Governments and civil society together to collectively advance the anti-corruption agenda and contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals – specifically SDG 16 and Target 16.5 on fighting corruption.

Global Collective Action Initiatives

The UN Global Compact works in partnership with Global Compact Country Networks to promote Collective Action initiatives. These efforts focus on increasing business integrity, enhancing transparency and uniting the private sector, Governments and civil society to collectively advance the anti-corruption agenda.

Through the first two rounds of funding from the Siemens Integrity Initiative, we have carried out activities specifically focused on advancing Collective Action efforts in Brazil, Egypt, India, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.

Currently, we are implementing two global projects across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America to promote Collective Action against corruption and foster private-public cooperation:

  1. Scaling Up Anti-Corruption Collective Action

 (launched in December 2019)

The projects are supported under the Third Funding Round of the Siemens Integrity Initiative.

2. Advancing Collective Action Against Corruption

(launched in July 2021)

  • Expanded the Playbook as a global resource.
  • Enabled 10 Country Networks to lead local and regional initiatives. Countries: Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia & Brunei, Mexico, Thailand and Ukraine.
  • Enhanced public-private policy dialogue to amplify the private sector's role in the global anti-corruption agenda.

The projects are supported under the Golden Stretch Funding Round of the Siemens Integrity Initiative.
