We are proud to announce that the Code of Ethics for Businesses in Kenya has won the Inspirational Newcomer Award at the 2025 Anti-Corruption Collective Action Awards.
Developed by Global Compact Network Kenya in collaboration with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance, this private-sector-led initiative is rooted in the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. It stands as a powerful example of how Collective Action can drive business integrity and ethical leadership.
Launched less than two years ago, the Code now unites over 800 companies in the fight against corruption. A key feature is the online platform that allows companies to sign the Code and publicly upload annual anti-corruption reports, promoting transparency and accountability. The platform also offers anti-corruption tools, including model policies and a self-assessment toolkit to support especially SMEs in implementing effective compliance programmes.
“The implementation of the online Code of Ethics for Business in Kenya has improved the ease of doing business, reducing costs, and strengthening global competitiveness.” — Kenya Private Sector Alliance
With this award, the Code is being recognized for reshaping corporate culture and advancing responsible business conduct in Kenya.
The Anti-Corruption Collective Action Awards are presented annually by the Basel Institute on Governance to highlight and encourage the development of Collective Action initiatives. These awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of collaborative efforts to tackle corruption and raise standards of business integrity. Network Ukraine and Network Brazil were also ACCA Award recipients in 2022 and 2024 respectively.
